I struggle with being consistent with my blog, I guess to say it better – I struggle with allocating time for my blog. Below are three area’s I sometimes go to when I think I have nothing to write about.
1. My Inbox: Fairly often I am emailed by a client with one of the same ten questions. When these types of questions come up continuously I take that as my que to write a blog about that question and from there on out I refer my client’s to my blog answering that post, instead of re-typing the same answer…again.
2. Quora.com: I love this site where people go to ask questions, and find answer. I typically use the site more to scroll through questions than answer or ask a ton but, I love the site for blog idea inspiration. Check it out, and you can find my profile on Quora here.
3. LinkedIn: I find that LinkedIn groups offer a ton of great interaction and also inspiration! Scan through the groups, read the questions, read the comments, and see what you could expand on. Better yet, let the group know you wrote a whole blog post about that topic in your comments on the stream.
There are a bunch of great ways to gain blog inspiration, I would love to hear yours. I find that the more I read and learn the more new idea’s in my head. Each month I try to read three books and below are the three books I read in September. These are affiliate links so if you click over through Amazon and buy the books, thank you, I’ll get a tiny commission off that but it will not affect the price of your book.
The first book I read was written by Michael Hyatt. He has an incredible blog and this book provides all the inspiration and advice you are going to need when building your own platform on the internet. This is a great read for anyone interesting in getting started with creating their own brand.
The second book I had the pleasure of reading was Wisdom Meets Passion, by Dan Miller and his son Jared Anganza. This book does a great job talking about finding purpose in your life and work. Dan Miller also has a great free weekly Podcast called 48 Days.
The final book I read in July was The Magic of Thinking Big. This is an oldy but a goody. I have read this book about 6 times and every time I find new inspiration and direction for pursuing my goals and dreams. Check it out and you won’t be disappointed.
Where do you find inspiration?
